Donna Noble's Necklace from Silence in the Library

The same lady that I got the Amy Pond "A" necklace from was kind enough to agree to make Donna's elusive necklace from Silence in the Library, which of course is the other Cosplay I'm currently working on. .

I'm waiting to hear back if she can get me the proper ring setting for what is affectionately called the "SuperTemp" ring that wears in this episode and also in  The End of Time.

Amy Pond ~ Time of the Angels

So, first things first! I'm a stickler for detail, I can't help it, its a pet peeve. So if I can't ID something I will point out details about the object in question so you can search for something with those attributes. That in mind, here we go!

This seems to be the most referenced picture as its a clear, full body shot of Karen Gillan as Amy Pond.

Let's start with the easy stuff.

The red hoodie is positively ID'd as American Apparel's Unisex Dolman Sleeve Hoody as seen here.

Since I, nor anyone else so far that I can find can positively ID this watch here are the details that I have picked up on:

1. Its a very slender watch
2. The face of the watch is square and white in color.
3. The band is thinner than the face.
4. The band is some sort of scale almost looks braided at times.


Her nails are painted (as per usual). They are a sort of mauve purple:

And the last piece is her headband, which is a chocolate brown in color, about an inch thick, and possibly velvety.

I'm sure I'll be making adjustments to this post as I find out more info. So stay tuned!

Doctor Who Cosplay

So I've finally accepted my geekiness in the fact that yes, I ADMIT IT, I love costumes, always have, and now as an adult I still wanna play dress up.

My mother has a blog, brokecostumer.blogspot.com and is head of the Costumer's Guild of San Diego. She keeps trying to get me to start sewing. She'll win that ongoing battle I think.

I've always been one to do costumes, (Halloween being my favorite of course). Then there's the Jareth Masquerade Balls, and the Steampunk Events, and then Repo! Shadowcasting (R.I.P.) 
Only as I draw ever nearer to my big 3-0 do I find myself wanting to do the ultimate Geek telltale. . . Cosplay.


Specifically Doctor Who Cosplay. 


Not only is it my favorite show but I took my first stab at it last year (2011) at Comic Con last minute, and I stress at LAST MINUTE, by putting together an Amy/11 Metacrisis costume.

 

But since Comic Con I've been working on 2 cosplays.  As screen accurate as I can get them to be, from some of my favorite episodes.

Part of this blog is to help people ID things if I can, and help with finding suitable substitutes where applicable.  I've seen other blogs like the one I have in mind, but I really don't agree with some of the colors they choose to say things are or I know for a fact that something is different than what they show. 

I will also try to keep it as updated as I can. And if someone can suggest something that is closer than what I post up and I agree, then I will gladly edit it.
